Fox at the Fireside: Guadalupe García McCall

Fox at the Fireside: Guadalupe García McCall

On Friday, Nov. 9, from 3 to 4 p.m., gather around the Murdock Library fireplace with coffee and light refreshments to chat with Guadalupe García McCall, award-winning young adult fiction author and assistant professor of English, about her latest books!

Her novel, Shame the Stars (Tu Books, 2016), was chosen as Texas' Great Read for 2018 by the Center for the Book in affiliation with Texas State Library and the Library of Congress. Her most recent novel, All the Stars Denied (Tu Books, 2018), has already received a starred review from School Library Journal. She will read selections from these two novels, share some stories, and open the space for further conversation around the fireplace.

About the Series:

Library faculty regularly host informal gatherings at the main campus library.  These are centered physically around the library fireplace, and intellectually around a topic of community interest.
